At the New York Times, Jeff Zeleny reports that the shadow administration of President-Elect Barack Obama may be planning to undo a number of the executive orders of George W. Bush. Those executive orders used an assertive interpretation of presidential authority to shove America in a more authoritarian and less citizen-friendly direction.

I am encouraged that as president Barack Obama may use his executive authority to undo what George W. Bush has done. But is there a shadow lurking in this strategy? By broad use of executive orders himself, will Barack Obama be endorsing and cementing the power of the presidency, at the expense of the other branches of government?
